yesterday, my company offered a service to get a health screening in exchange for a $25 VISA gift card. we have about 60 people out here on site and i was one of three to opt out. one for being scared of needles and the other apparently being talked out of it by me. i am not sure why i opted out, other than i think it is very weird to 'sell' my blood for $25 to my company. yes, it is all confidential, but i am calling bs on that. why would my company care if you are healthy or not? we pay our own health insurance. and why would they pay me to get screened? so no, i am not selling my blood for them to confidentially hand over my results. i will spend my own $25.
